Andy just sent me the photos from our weekend in Avalon - I think Mac took these? Thanks, Mac!

heading to the beach

such an awesome moment. we conquered!

I was writing someone about our trip yesterday and was going back through the blog… I really miss exploring a new place every day and riding so many miles all the time. I just rode from Atlantic City to Avalon this morning… a whopping 26 miles. Still loads of fun, though - especially with the wind at my back.
Quinn:
I was just telling about seeing your smiling faces pull up at that ice cream store in Avalon! You guys looked so good on the road.
You guys had it down! All around! From the mountains, to the town!
Good for you! Good for all the people you met on this wonderful journey! Good for the time you shared with all of us who enjoyed the ride with you.
So, how’s the job hunting? I still owe you a Straub beer!
Take care.
Hi Lee! I really miss touring, but its so nice to look back on all of this and remember all of the amazing moments. job hunting is going well - moving upstate in a couple months to work and enjoy the country again..and get away from city life. i’ll have to drink some straub in your honor when i get up there!
Just thought I would check up on the Two Arm Party. Glad to see you are still posting!
We have a couple coming to stay for a warm shower that have been on the road for 3 years!
There were a rash of fires along our road. The fire marshall interviewed people asking if they had seen any suspicious people. One woman told him there were two people that rode bicycles down the road all the time who looked suspicious to her!
Quinn, I have been worrying about you finding a job in N.Y. I have one for you in S.D. My people would sure love to see that not stop smile and positive personality you have.
Thanks, Dorothy! We sure do miss you on the east coast…. everyone here could use some Dorothy in their lives. If i decide to head out to SD again, you’ll be the first one to know.
Wow! I just checked the web site to read any additions and finally get to see the ocean pictures that were taken at Avolan,N.J. I know about Andy’s job at the “Outrigger Store” and now about Quinn’s but what about the master web designer? Is Ken working? Riding? Drinking? or playing?. Perhaps all four huh.
I so miss the daily blog news on you all. My Charleston, SC door is always open if you get past Avolan, NJ. Its not a real bicycle friendly area but they’re working on that but its always weather friendly. Come visit TwoArmParty.

As a parent, I still get chills thinking about blog report of the safety of the ride while traveling down the mountain, at the beginning of your trip, with sleet & cold and huge logging trucks passing you on your bicycles. Then again at the end with Ken’s flat bicycle tire while riding over the bridge into NYC and no control for steering.
What a ride. I get the “deer in the headlights” stare upon telling folks of your bicycle crossing. 4,400 miles and 85 days. Wow! Not many people in that select group of adventurers.
